Tottenham On Verge Of Signing Welbeck From Manchester United

Tottenham have emerged as the favourites to sign Manchester United outcast Danny Welbeck before the close of the transfer window on Monday, after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger denied any interest in the player.
United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly prepared to sell Welbeck, with the England international not in his plans at Old Trafford.
Arsenal had been linked a move for Welbeck after the news emerged that Olivier Giroud will be out until the end of December at the earliest after suffering a broken tibia in the 2-2 draw at Everton on Saturday.
Wenger, however, denied any interest in his post-match briefing after Arsenal's 1-0 win over Besiktas in the Champions League qualifier last night.

Spurs' manager Mauricio Pochettino has said he is open to making more signing before the window closes on Monday, and reports suggest that his next addition could be Welbeck. Defender Federico Fazio was signed from Sevilla for £8m yesterday
The England international has proven to be a useful option on the wing for the Red Devils in recent seasons, but his effectiveness in the final third has been notably poor, which has led to him being dropped from the side.
The 23-year-old has only just returned from injury, but it is being suggested that Louis van Gaal wants to offload him, particularly after a poor showing against MK Dons in the Capital One Cup loss recently.
United are prepared to let Welbeck leave in search of regular first-team football, but the former Sunderland loanee does also have the option of staying at Old Trafford.
