Arsenal Close In On Surprise Deal To Sign Olympiakos Youngster

Having seen Thomas Vermaelen leave for Barcelona Arsene Wenger has been linked with a number of potential defensive signings and now  Arsenal are on verge to land Greek international Kostas Manolas. Wenger has earmarked Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas as the man to replace Thomas Vermaelen.
The 23-year-old defender has starred for both his club and his country in recent times, and now, according to Italy's Tutto Mercato, Arsenal's French chief will make his move.
Manolas has been linked with a move to Italy - with Roma, Juventus and Napoli all mooted as potential destinations - but now the Premier League could be calling his name at the highest pitch to ignore..
