Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) have finally allowed striker Paul Kiongera to join Tanzanian giants Simba SC, Goal can report.
KCB Coach Rishadi Shedu has revealed that Kiongera has ditched the bankers’ for Simba after asking to leave.
“Kiongera has signed for Simba SC. He was one player we did not want
to lose at this stage of the Kenyan league especially when we are
fighting relegation but we could not stop him because he was a free
agent.
“Kiongera was supposed to join a top club in Bulgaria but when the
deal fell through he returned and penned a contract which had an option
of being released if he gets a club.
“We did not have an option of holding on to him and furthermore, such
opportunities come once in a life time. I want to wish him all the best
in his new club,” said Shedu.
Shedu however, said they have asked Simba to allow the player feature
for them in upcoming three matches. “We asked them if they can allow
him to come back until August. We are still fighting relegation and
Kiongera was one player I was banking on for results.
“We hope Simba will allow him to feature for us in two or three matches.”
